Findochty, 2 Castle Street

House (early 20th Century)

What is recorded here

Two Castle Street stands in Findochty, Moray, a compact early 20th Century house built when the fishing village still believed it would grow into a real town. Its walls likely held oil lamps, mended nets and arguments about the tide before they held television or silence. The house did not need grandeur to matter because it gave ordinary people a dry corner where love, fear and pride could exist together.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Findochty, 2 Castle Street as House (early 20th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
