Findlater Castle is a ruined medieval fortress on a detached rock in Aberdeenshire, occupied by the St Clair family during the reign of David II before becoming the original seat of the Ogilvies. Its west-side buildings remain dangerous, while the east side preserves only faint outlines of stables and a chapel. The Ogilvies abandoned the exposed coastal site after 1600 to build a palace in Cullen, leaving behind a rectangular bailey, a deep ditch and an eroded approach that the sea has steadily swallowed.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Findlater Castle as Cairn (bronze Age), Beaker (bronze Age)(possible). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1km. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
