Why this matters
Fin Cop is a small hill in the Derbyshire Dales, rising to approximately 330 metres above sea level. It is part of the limestone plateau that characterises much of the Peak District, and its name may derive from the Old English for "end of the hill." The area is significant for its upland farming landscape and proximity to the Roman road known as the Wirksworth Way.
