Rathmore South holds a forgotten field system in low-lying pasture, its linear and curvilinear boundaries still visible through cropmarks near a moated site and standing stone. The fields predate local mapping, suggesting people shaped this wet ground long before modern records arrived. They likely farmed or grazed there until water, time or changing ownership erased the boundaries from human memory.

In low-lying pasture, cut by land drains and watercourses, 350m SW of a townland boundary with Rathmore North. A moated site (LI031-020001-) and a standing stone (LI031-020002-) lie 165m to E. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Monument is visible as an irregular-shaped area (ha/acres) containing linear and curvilinear-shaped cropmarks, some intersecting at right angles and which appear to suggest an earlier field system.
