Clontygora in County Armagh holds field clearance cairns dated to the eighteenth or nineteenth century. They mark when people cleared stones from farmland and stacked them into visible lines. The land remembers that repeated labour because the cairns still break the horizon.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as FIELD CLEARANCE CAIRNS, probably modern. Recorded period: C18TH/C19TH; UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
