Field boundary in Garranes (glanarought By., Ardea Ed)

In rough hill pasture, on a S-facing slope, overlooking the valley of the Glantrasna River. The remains of a curvilinear stone wall (T 0.65m; H 0.5m) protrude above the surface of the bog and, from an enclosure (KE109-001040-) at the SE, extend upslope to the NW for c. 50m. From this point the wall branches to the SW for c. 45m, while another wall branches to the NE for c. 14m. This latter branch continues in a curving fashion to the N and NW for c. 33m. Many stones were noted at right angles to the line of the wall. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
