Field boundary in Derreenataggart East

In a level area of rough upland grazing, on a mantle of blanket bog, on the SE foothills of Miskish Mountain. A stretch of a relict stone field boundary (T c. 0.55m; H 0.3m) extends (L c. 80m) to the W from a N-S flowing stream at the E. The boundary gradually curves to the NW and then to the N where it terminates near a field boundary. The relict field boundary is defined by stones which protrude above the surface. There is a fulacht fia (CO115-115----) c. 10m to the NE of this field boundary. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
