St Gwenfaen's Well is associated with St Gwenfaen, a 6th-century Cornish saint also venerated in Wales, particularly linked to healing and protection. The well was traditionally visited for its curative properties, especially for eye ailments and skin conditions, and was often the site of offerings and pilgrimages.
