Ferneycastle is a prehistoric pit alignment in the Scottish Borders, marked by holes rather than walls. The land may have worn the edges smooth, but the spacing still suggests people laid out the pits with intention. They may have marked a boundary, gathered stones or simply played with the shape of the earth.
