This blue commemorative plaque records: Feathers Lane. This lane led to the yard of the Feathers Hotel, Chester's principal coaching inn in the early 19th century. Twenty coaches left here every day. The Feathers, situated just to the north of the lane, was demolished in 1866.
The Feathers Hotel served as Chester's primary coaching inn during the early 19th century, facilitating the departure of twenty coaches daily; it was a crucial hub for travel and communication before its demolition in 1866.
