Fast Castle is a ruined coastal fortress in Berwickshire, rebuilt in 1522 for George Home, 4th Lord Home, after chaos destroyed the earlier structure. Cliffs up to forty-five metres high guarded the narrow plateau, leaving only a drawbridge and barbican as the landward weakness. English troops occupied it in 1346 and 1547, while Scottish nobles seized it back between those dates. A cave at the cliff foot may have given inhabitants a hidden sea route, and a pulley basket still suggests how people climbed down when the stair failed.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Fast Castle as Castle (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Fast Castle was built by the Douglas family in the 14th century and is remembered for its strategic importance in the Scottish Wars of Independence.
