Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Morgans North

Fairy fort / stone ringfort

What is recorded here

Morgans North holds a collapsed stone ringfort where bracken chokes the interior and cattle traffic widened the eastern gap. The wall lies buried under sods and dumped field rubble, yet the circular shape still emerges through the pasture. People may have lived inside that narrow stone circle before forgetting the name, leaving only a fairy fort behind for others to wonder about.
Atop low rise, in low-lying pasture. Roughly circular area (27.3m N-S; 26.4m E-W) enclosed NW->SW by collapsed sod-covered dry-stone wall (H 1.2m; Wth 2m) and SW->NW by field boundary replacing, or possibly overlying, enclosing wall. Gap in bank (Wth 3.3m) to NE appears to have recently been widened. Interior surface uneven and covered by dense overgrowth of bracken etc. Soil and stones from removed field boundaries has been dumped against outside of enclosing element on E side and in SE quadrant of interior.
