Fairy forts and ringforts in this region are often the same kind of place: a strong circular wall made by people, later remembered through fairy story. In Listrim the stones may have marked a home, a boundary, a refuge or a small centre of local life. The fairy name does not erase that human purpose; it shows how easily ordinary places become mysterious when memory thins.
