Knockdoebeg West holds a broken oval cashel and three rectangular houses on a grassy slope, marking a small cluster of ordinary life rather than a single dramatic event. The field wall now cuts through the fort, and modern gaps have opened its stone rim, yet the shapes still suggest people who built, lived and left behind a place others could recognize.

On a N-facing slope in grassland. Poorly preserved oval cashel (E-W 51m, N-S 35m) defined by a drystone wall. A field wall cuts the monument at NW and SE. Gaps at W and SSE appear modern. Abutting the monument at W is a poorly preserved rectangular house (E-W; L 8m, Wth 5m) defined by a grassed-over stone wall. Two structures of similar construction and dimensions lie c. 25m to W.
