What is recorded here
Knockadikeen holds a broken circular cashel and rectangular annexe on a grassy rise, preserving a place where people once lived, kept animals, or marked a boundary before the stones collapsed. The main ring measures twenty-nine metres across, while the attached annexe stretches sixteen by fourteen metres beside a narrow western gap. A hollow in the south-east quadrant may hide a collapsed underground passage, and low foundations in the south-west may have divided the interior into rooms. The name fairy fort suggests that people later stopped understanding the building and gave its uncertainty to imagination.
On the top of a rise in grassland. Poorly preserved circular cashel (diam. 29m) defined by a collapsed drystone wall. A hollow in the SE quadrant of the interior may be the collapsed remains of a Man-made underground passage (GA105-139001-). In the SW quadrant a series of low grassed-over wall foundations may be internal divisions. Abutting the cashel wall at WSW is an annexe which is roughly rectangular in plan (L 16m; Wth 14m) and defined by grassed-over stone walls. There is a gap (Wth 2.5m) at WSW.
