Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Kiltiernan East

Fairy fort / stone ringfort

What is recorded here

Kiltiernan East holds a ruined stone ring in flat farmland, marked by a collapsed wall and a hidden underground passage. The field boundary now cuts through the ancient circle, reducing a strong defensive home to a faint local shadow.
In level reclaimed farmland. Poorly preserved roughly circular cashel (diam. 30m) defined by a collapsed drystone wall; traces of the inner wall-facing survive at ESE. A field boundary cuts through the monument at NW and SE. There is a Man-made underground passage (GA103-142001-) in the NW quadrant of the interior.
