Keelhilla holds a broken stone ring on a narrow ridge, its entrance marked by a lone block and its floor strewn with collapsed rock. The site has lost most of its wall, yet the remaining stones still draw a circle large enough for people, animals or memory. What is missing has not stopped the place from speaking; it has only changed the shape of the voice.

On the crest of a low N–S ridge with a moderately steep fall immediately to E. Hachured on the 1842 and 1915 eds. of the OS 6-inch maps. Listed as ‘Enclosure’ in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1996). A very poorly preserved subcircular cashel (int. dims. 33.4m N–S; 33.2m E–W) defined by a wide stone spread (Wth 3.5–6.5m; H 0.5–0.8m) with intermittent inner and outer facing-stones (max H 1.2m) surviving between SSW and N (original wall Wth 2.8m). A gap at E (Wth 1m) is flanked by a large block of stone on its S side and is probably the original entrance. From SSE to SSW a low bluff of outcropping rock (H 2m) forms part of the site limits and the internal base of the bluff is strewn with collapsed stone and boulders.
