No visible trace remains in Drumgloon, County Clare. The land may have worn away the stone wall, buried the gate or carried the fort into legend. A fairy fort is not a joke about small creatures; it is a warning that the boundary between people and place has become uncertain. What is missing can still occupy the mind, shaping memory, fear and imagination long after the stones disappear.
