What is recorded here

Fairy forts are mentioned in Irish folklore as dwelling places of the good people, but this is a human ringfort: a cashel built by living people, probably for defence, residence or both. The fairy name came later, when people stopped knowing its true purpose and gave the gap in understanding to legend.
