No human has measured the cave beneath Derry East, though the closed hole and ancient fort suggest a hidden chamber where the boundary between worlds grows thin. The stone ring stands on a low rise with a clear view in every direction, watching the land like a sentinel that never blinks. Local people removed stones for building, yet the earth kept the shape intact. The missing chamber may still hold the breath of the world before human measurement, waiting for someone brave enough to enter and return changed.

Internal diam. 22m N-S, 20.6m E-W This considerably disturbed enclosure, not marked on the OS maps and known locally as a 'Caher', is situated on top of a low rise with an excellent outlook in all directions. Much of the stone used in the construction of its wall was removed for use as building material (local information). Only intermittent sections of stone facing are now visible through the sod-cover. The interior of the site survives at a slightly higher level than the denuded, 3m wide, enclosing wall. A field boundary overlies the wall at W, and a second boundary, E-W, traverses the site's interior. A 'hole' in the interior was blocked up within living memory, which may indicate the presence of a Man-made underground passage (KE099-031001-) there. The above description is derived from A.
