Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Carrickadraan is a fairy fort or stone ringfort in Carrickadraan, County Roscommon, Ireland. The subcircular grass-covered area measures 20.5 metres east-west and 17.5 metres north-south towards the top of a south-facing drumlin ridge. A stone spread defines the boundary, with no visible entrance or facing stones. Another cashel sits ten metres north and a quarry lies immediately west.
Towards the top of the S-facing slope of an E-W drumlin ridge with rock outcrop. Subcircular grass-covered area (int. diam. 20.5m E-W; 17.5m N-S) defined by stone spread (at S: Wth 2m; H 0.05m; at N: Wth 4.4m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.05m). There is no visible entrance or facing stones. Cashel (RO004-018001-) is c. 10m to the N and there is a quarry immediately to the W. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
