What is recorded here

Caherlough is a stone ringfort where people built a defensible home before the written record reached it. The stones still stand in a circle, marking a boundary between ordinary land and a life that no longer exists. It is easy to imagine children running past the wall or an elder watching the road from its edge, but that is invention. The fort itself is fact, and it is still there.
