Ballyteige West holds a stone ringfort, a cashel built by human hands though local imagination has since assigned it to fairies. The contradiction is not a mistake but a clue: the structure outlived its builders, lost its name, and became large enough for mythology to move in. People may have lived inside, watched roads, or abandoned it when trade changed. The stones remain, doing what they have always done, holding shape while human memory thins around them.
