Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Ballymulcashel, curraghkilleen

Fairy fort / stone ringfort

What is recorded here

Ballymulcashel and Curraghkilleen scatter stone rings across Clare, inviting people to imagine fairy forts rather than human farms. That mislabelled certainty smotheres the truth. These are cashels, human strongholds built by flesh and blood. The fantasy arrives later, desperate to populate an empty world.
