Fairy fort / stone ringfort in Ballymulcashel

Fairy fort / stone ringfort

What is recorded here

Fairy forts are often misread as human forts. In Ballymulcashel the stone ring may be a boundary marker, a refuge, or a place where the visible and hidden worlds overlap. People may have lived nearby, feared the circle, or avoided it after dark. The stones do not need a human story to be extraordinary. They stand as a reminder that some places belong to more than one kind of creature.
