Fairy forts are not fantasy. They are human made, often medieval or older, and they belong to the living region. That is what makes them worthy of respect.

The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Circular area (diam. 29m) surrounded by stone wall. Gap at NW is probably original entrance. Field boundary wall stands on inner face of cashel wall from NW-N-E.
