What is recorded here

Slievecarragh holds a ringfort, a circular earthwork built by human hands yet named for fairy folk because its purpose and owners vanished into local memory. The fort stands in County Kilkenny as an unclassified ruin, its boundary marked only by soil and shape rather than stone or chamber. People may have lived, hidden or worshipped inside it before forgetting the name of the first family who dug it.
