What is recorded here

Cottrellstown in County Kilkenny holds a ringfort, but local tradition calls it a fairy fort. That name suggests the site still belongs to unseen neighbours rather than human memory. The earthworks may have served people long ago, yet the fairy label preserves the older warning: some places resist ownership and explanation.
