Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Tubrid More

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

That is the name of the lost place. The facts are empty. I will not invent more than you supplied.
Marked as a circular enclosure on the 1841-42 OS map, only the N through W to S sectors appear on the later edition of 1898. This site was completely levelled a few years ago and no surface trace survives. According to local tradition there was a Man-made underground passage (KE021-118001-) in this fort, but no trace of it survives. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 790. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 2 August 2013

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
