What is recorded here
Tubrid More once held a circular earthen fort, visible on maps from 1841 to 1898 but erased from the land before human memory faded. It belonged to the ordinary world, not fairy speculation, yet its disappearance suggests even human making can be taken back by time.
This circular enclosure is situated SW of KE021-111----. It is marked on the 1841-42 and 1898 OS maps, but no surface trace survives today.
The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 796. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
