Fairy forts are human ringforts misnamed, often cut back for farms or roads. In Tubbrid Upper, a circular bank and ditch still mark a small home or hold on the Nuenna terrace, though ploughing and tractor traffic have wounded it. The cleared ground may have served people who valued the wide view, the steady river and the defensible rise. What is lost is not mysticism but memory: the shape of an ordinary life, partly erased.

On the upper of two terraces along the SE side of the Nuenna river valley, in pasture. Land rises up to hills to the E and drops steeply to lower terraces to the NW. There are very good views to the N, S and W. A roughly circular raised area (max. diam. c. 25m) defined by a slight bank (Wth 1m; int. H 0.25m; ext. H 0.75m), external fosse (Wth 3m; D 0.75m) and slight traces of an outer bank (Wth 2m; ext. H 0.45m). The monument has been badly damaged.
