What is recorded here
Fairy fort in Tomdeely North, County Limerick: a circular earthen enclosure about thirty metres across, mapped in 1923 and levelled around 1980 when surrounding field boundaries were removed. It vanished so completely that the pasture gives no hint of the ridge, gate or hollow where people once drew a line around their own lives. What remains is a absent shape, large enough to walk around and small enough to forget.
In level pasture. Monument, depicted as circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on 1923 OS 6-inch map, has been levelled. No trace of monument evident when inspected. According to landowner levelled c. 1980 when surrounding field boundaries also removed.
