Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Tawlaght (trughanacmy By., Ardfert Par.)

Fairy forts are earthen rings that may have been human homes, boundaries or ritual markers before becoming fairy places in local memory. In Tawlaght, the ring stands inside an ordinary Kerry landscape, yet its shape suggests exclusion: keep out, do not enter, do not disturb what occupies it.
