What is recorded here

Fairy forts in western Ireland are often earthen ringforts, human-made defences or dwellings later renamed for the unseen tenants believed to occupy them. In Shanavogh West that name suggests a place where the boundary between people and fairyland became thin enough to invent. The earth may have served humans first, but memory reshaped it into a dwelling for the hidden, which is often what these rings still do.
