Fairy fort in Scrahanard, County Cork, Ireland. The earth bank and stone boundary still mark a small circular life on the hillside. People may have lived there, excluded others at the narrow southern gap, and left the rest behind.

In rough grazing land, on SSW-facing slope. Circular area (32m E-W; 30m N-S) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.5m; ext. H 0.9m) NNW->ENE; dumped stones ENE->S; scarp (H 1.3m) S->W; stone field boundary W->NNW. Bank stone-faced in parts; gap to S (Wth 1m). Interior cut into hillside to N and raised on S side to compensate for downslope. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
