Fairy fort in Rathgoggan Middle was a circular earth enclosure about 45 metres across, marked on maps from 1842 to 1936 before local accounts say it was levelled around 1979. It stood on an east-facing pasture slope with an incomplete bank, a scarp, and a dry fosse that later became waterlogged to the east. The shape suggests people once shaped that land for residence, defense, or ritual, while the fairy fort name preserves the older habit of seeing unusual rings as belonging to another kind of tenant. What remains is a lost outline: a human-made circle that became a story, then a memory, then nothing visible at all.
