Fairy fort in Mortgage, County Limerick: a 16m x 17m earthen ring, bank 5.75m wide, rising 0.7m inside and 1.6m outside, with two modern ramps at north and east-south-east. It sits behind a dwelling, 32m from the Cloghnamana boundary, a barrow 294m to the north-east. Trees and dumped earth obscure parts of the edge, yet the circle remains visible in aerial images from 2005 to 2018. People may have lived, hidden or played there before memory faded; the earth still holds the shape of their coming and going.

In level area at rear of dwelling with views moderate in all directions, 32m E of townland boundary with Cloghnamana. A barrow (LI022-133----) lies 294m to NE. Surveyed by the ASI in 2000, and described as a raised circular-shaped area (16m N-S; 17m E-W ) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 5.75m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1.6m) with two modern ramps giving access to interior at N (Wth 1.7m) and at ESE (Wth 5.5m). Possible disturbance along edge of site from E to W with earth dumped obscuring view. The monument is visible overgrown with trees on the OSi orthophotos 2005-2012, Digital Globe orthoimages 2011-2013 and Google Earth orthoimage taken in 2018.
