Fairy fort in Maulvirane, County Cork: a 30m earthen ring in pasture, its outer bank swallowed by fence and a shadow of a passage hiding in the south-east. People may have lived, buried or fled there before becoming fairy tale; the shape still keeps its edge.
In pasture, on break in N-facing slope. Circular area (30m N-S; 31.5m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1m); external fosse (D 0.5m) S->NNE; outer bank S->NNE, incorporated into field fence system. Possible Man-made underground passage (CO134-093---) in SE quadrant.
