Fairy fort in Masmore, County Galway: a 77-metre earthen ring on a west-facing grass slope, partly lost but still marked by scarp, ditch and outer bank. Field walls radiate from it like spokes from a hidden hub. Perhaps people once drew boundaries around the fort because the land itself seemed to answer back.

On a W-facing slope in grassland. This poorly preserved subcircular rath (E-W 77m) came to light during aerial reconnaissance in September 1984 (ASGAP Roll 166:5). It is defined by a degraded scarp, intervening fosse and outer bank from NE through S to NW. No visible surface trace survives elsewhere. A number of field walls radiate from the monument.
