Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Lisgowel

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Lisgowel, County Mayo, Ireland is known as a ringfort - rath, yet the official file withholds its shape and age. The boundary may have marked a home, a boundary or a forgotten ritual place, but no human name or date has survived to anchor it. What is left is a hollow ring in the landscape, waiting for someone to remember why it was made.
