Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Lisduff (muckanagh Ed)

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Muckanagh, the largest fort in County Clare, rises as a massive earthen ring in Lisduff. Local legend claims it belongs to fairies, but its scale suggests human ambition. Perhaps a chieftain built it to defy the dark, or perhaps the fairies borrowed the labour of forgotten men. Either way, the earth still holds the shape of that fierce choice.
