Fairy fort in Lisbehegh, County Cork: a 34m earthen ring on a south-facing pasture slope, its bank two metres high and its causeway still marking the entrance. People may have lived there, herded there, or refused to explain it, while the fairies kept the fort closed to ordinary sense.

In pasture, on S-facing slope. Circular area (34m N-S; 34m E-W) enclosed by substantial earthen bank (int. H 2m); fosse (D 1m). Gap in bank (Wth 3.2m) to SSE with causeway. Interior raised on S side to compensate for hillslope. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
