What is recorded here
No visible gap remains where the entrance once stood, yet the circle still claims thirty-six metres of Cavan soil. Cattle now walk the yard inside the broken bank, unaware that they graze upon a forgotten chamber. The fairies never left; they merely stopped building walls people could see.
Raised circular area (int. diam. c. 36m) enclosed by a partly denuded, irregular earthen bank and the remains of a fosse infilled from NW-N-NE. Original entrance not recognisable. Internal area now forms part of a modern farmyard.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
