Fairy fort in Leahys, County Limerick: a 34-metre earthen ring on an east-facing slope, its bank standing 1.8 metres high outside and dipping into a grassy centre. The wide eastern breach, where the fosse disappears, suggests an entrance later opened for cattle rather than people. You can still picture hands piling soil there long before carts, then forget the name of the first person who lived inside the circle.

In undulating pasture, on E-facing slope of low rise. Circular area (34m N-S; 34m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.3m; ext. H 1.8m) with external fosse (Wth 2m; D 0.5m). Some trees grow on bank but otherwise site free of overgrowth. Wide breach in bank (Wth 4.5m) at E corresponds with absence of fosse, suggesting entrance which has been widened to allow cattle access interior.
