Lackannashinnagh holds a ringfort where clay and stone still draw a circle across the Clare field. It is the kind of place people once called a fairy fort, not to dismiss it but to admit that the living hand which built it has vanished. The border remains sharp enough to touch, yet the hands, names and purposes have drained away like water from a dug well.
