What is recorded here

Lackanamona holds a forgotten circular fort sixty metres wide, buried beneath tillage but still visible when crops grow uneven above its hidden ditch. It sits beside a newer ringfort on a ridge where people have farmed the same soil for centuries. The fairies may have taken the name, but humans built the circle, lived inside it, and disappeared into the story.

In tillage, on W shoulder of an E-W ridge and c. 140m NNW of ringfort (CO033-031---). Cropmark of fosse of circular enclosure (diam. c. 60m) visible in aerial photograph (CASAP, July 1989). Arc (C c. 40m) formed by low rise noted SSE->NW. Curved field fence shown on 1842, 1905 and 1935 OS 6-inch maps also noted as cropmark skirting E side of site.
