What is recorded here

Knockeen holds a true ringfort, yet local tongues call it a fairy fort because the earthwork still carries that much-needed warning. The boundary between human history and fairy danger blunts at this spot. People built or shaped the rampart, but the fairies took the credit and the risk. That is often how the old land keeps its edge sharp.
