Mc Hugh's Fort in Knockaunbrack has lost its bank, ditch and rampart, leaving only a faint convex garth and a curving band of vegetation to mark the circle. The land has swallowed the warning and the wall, yet the shape still resists forgetting. People may have stood inside that vanished border, watched the pasture or kept something back, while the soil took the stones and the sky took the rest.

On a slight rise in low-lying pastureland. Marked on 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1930) as a circular enclosure (D c. 30m), and known locally as a 'lios'. Called 'Mc Hugh's Fort' by Neary (1914, 120, no. 13) and described by him as a 'Circular, earthen fort [with a] border of simplest design. The bank, rampart and ditch have disappeared, and only the garth remains, somewhat convex in form'. Apart from a curving band of vegetation, no visible surface trace survives.
