Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Kilmore (trughanacmy By.)

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Kilmore in Trughanacmy preserves an earthen ringfort that local memory still calls a fairy fort. The soil may have swallowed human roofs and hearths, yet the circle endures as a boundary between the ordinary world and the hidden one. People may have lived there before forgetting its true purpose, while the fairies inherited the vacancy and continued occupying the same ground.
