Fairy fort in Kilmartin Lower is a 34m earthen ring, 2m high, partly hidden by trees in pasture. It may contain a man-made underground passage, and it has stood since before records, shaping local memory as much as stone. People may have lived, hidden or worshipped there, while later stories gave the fort to fairies because its purpose resisted easy explanation.

In pasture. Roughly circular area (diam. 34m) defined by earthen bank (H 2m). Bank and interior partially overgrown with deciduous trees.
